Comparison shopping in Ohio
Unlike most times that I write to praise the park and its staff, this one does not come at the end of a trip to the park.
My family and I visited another park close to you in Ohio this past weekend, and I thought that you would appreciate a phrase that came out of my 4-year-old daughter's mouth on more than one occasion. She said, "This park isn't as nice as Holiday World" numerous times, usually followed by "When are we going back to Holiday World?"
While I thought that the park was pretty good, when compared to the park that is directly between it and Holiday World, she was right.
At the other park, the employees felt a bit stand-offish to the point where I think I was only asked one time if I was having a good visit.
On both trips to Holiday World, I couldn't walk 20 feet without at least "Hi," "How is your day going?" or some other greeting.
At one point at the other park, my wife slipped in some water draining off of a water play area. She was right in front of two employees, who looked at her and then continued on with their business. Not a single, "Are you okay?"
My daughter stumbled on a step but was able to catch herself at your park last time and two employees were there to see if she is alright.
While standing in line for about an hour for a ride in the kids section of the park, my daughter made one of her comments about wanting to go back to Holiday World soon. The family in front of us heard her and started asking us about the park. After talking with them for about 10 minutes or so, I have a feeling that you'll have some new converts coming your way soon.
Thanks again for everything, you prove that parks don't have to be impersonal.
Without you guys going above and beyond every day, all day, people would think that the treatment I experienced this past weekend was supposed to be the norm. Keep up the great work and hope to see you again soon.
Sincerely,
Rob B.
