One of the best days of my life

Yesterday my 2 children (11 and 5) and I visited your park.

I just wanted to tell you that it was one of the best days of my life.

We had such a wonderful time, even in the extreme heat!

Thank you so much for supplying the free drinks and the sunscreen.

Your crew is exceptional! Those young people must have been miserable in the heat, but every one of them was extremely kind!

Special thanks to Patrick running the train, and the 2 in the gift shop that sells wooden pictures and glass art -- there was a lovely mature woman, and a very nice young man who likes Harleys.

Also, there was a great kid who took our wagon back around 7:00 p.m. and joked and laughed with my children. I'm sorry, I should have taken their names.

I'm sure you get e-mails like this all the time, but I just wanted to let you know that you're doing a wonderful job, and I really appreciate how much energy you put into making a day at Holiday World an awesome experience.

Thank you and God Bless you and all your staff and crew!

Two days of fun

I just wanted to take a quick moment to thank everyone at Holiday World for a wonderful first visit to your park!

We came from Indianapolis and the drive wasn’t too bad…just under three hours.

We visited the park Monday and Tuesday of this week (June 27 and 28) with our two kids (ages 4 and 5)…your slogan is certainly true – Family Fun.

We enjoyed the rides the first day and ate at the park as well.

The staff at the park was very friendly…the service at restaurants, etc., was exceptional – with very reasonable prices too.

The free soft drinks are just a wonderful idea and certainly helped to keep everyone hydrated during those hot days!

I was even surprised to see Pat Koch when we were enjoying lunch at Kringle’s Kafé – she was cleaning tables and sweeping floors – now that’s an owner that really cares and really sends a message to staff and patrons alike!

We took advantage of the $18 second-day pass and had a great time in the water park on day two! The locker system you use is perfect allowing you access all day – the free sunscreen and the attentiveness of the lifeguard staff was great.

Thanks again for a wonderful visit – I can assure you we will be back in the future!

Wonderful place

Just wanted to let you know how much my 3 boys, my husband and myself enjoyed Holiday World.

Thank you for keeping it nice and clean and for the free drinks.

It is wonderful place to take the family.

Jealous sisters

Holiday World has been my favorite theme park since I was 8 years old.

That was way before the water park!

I’m now 25 and haven’t been in a few years, but my parents (in their 50s) just went and they said they had a great time!

My younger sister and I are jealous, but thanks for making a great park with clean grounds and free stuff!

You have figured out how to do it right. Just wanted to say thanks!

Teary-eyed mom

My family completed our 4th annual trip to Holiday World last week and wanted to take a moment to thank you for what was a wonderful time.

Our first trip 4 years ago was our first attempt at a vacation of any kind as our life had been consumed by our children them 3 and 5 special medical needs and disabilities.

I will always remember weeping as we entered the gates and the kids clamored excitedly towards the old fashion cars.

My life was for the first time just what I dreamed parenting would be.

We have returned each year and come to expect and cherish the extraordinary helpfulness of your staff--not once in 4 years has an employee ask about the obvious difference in our children, instead they naturally stepped into provide the extra help needed.

This year for the first time we visited with our older now 8 year old child in a power wheelchair. Friends throughout the state had assured us that you were truly prepared to accommodate that. And you were!

The helpful blue accessibility guide book was clear and extensive.

I love the wait-time policy as it recognized the need for an alternative entrance but displayed fairness as we waited our turn just like others.

I still get teary-eyed every year when I enter Holiday World--because I know that my day will be filled with family fun in an environment well suited to meet our family's special circumstances.

All year we talk and remember fondly the "happiest place in Indiana."

Keep up the good work!

Our family visited Holiday World recently , we loved it !!!!!!

Our son was in tears when the park closed for the day. We are planning a return trip.

I was really impressed at how clean the park is.

25th year to visit

When we approached the gate entering Holiday World we saw Pat Koch talking to some guests. We had recognized her from the television commercials and the name associated with Santa Claus Land & Holiday World.

We didn't get a chance to speak to her, but we wanted to let her know that this was our 25th year coming to the park. I wished we could have seen her as we left, because I would have said thank you so much for all the great years & fun we've had coming to Holiday World. This year was no exception. We all had a blast.

Holiday World is a big tradition for our family. It started out 25 years ago with 7 or 8 of us going each year. This year our regulars totaled 15 and a 3rd generation.

I have a strong feeling it will continue to grow.

Again, thanks so much to everyone for the wonderful times we've had the last 25 years and we look forward to seeing you all again next year.

Who knows, the summer is still young. We may wind up making a second trip later this summer.

Marching back home

My daughter is in the North Posey Marching Band. Last week they traveled to the Chicago Area to perform some concerts. One of their locations was Six Flags Great America.

My elementary-age daughter had also won a ticket to Six Flags for a Reading program at her school. So we went to Six Flags yesterday.

I just wanted to let you know, you have the BEST PARK, hands down.

It's hard to appreciate what you have at home unless you go away.

Well their park was fine, they have many large and exciting rides, but lacks the atmosphere of yours. Your park is cleaner and friendlier, just like the ads say.

Their water park is new this year and boy do they have a lot to learn. The main problem is that they made it way too small to accommodate their crowds. It just simply was not all that enjoyable.

I wanted to let you know right away how much I appreciate Holiday World. You are the best!!!!!!

Best vacation ever

I just wanted to tell you what a kick we get out of reading all Paula's comments in her HoliBlog column.

Also wanted to tell you that my husband and I brought two granddaughters to Holiday World last year for 4 days. They are cousins, 9 and 10.

The 9 year old had just returned from Gulf Shores, Alabama, for two weeks at the beach and had been in Cancun, Mexico, for a week a couple months before.

After all those wonderful vacation spots she informed us that Holiday World was her "very BEST vacation ever."

Thanks for the wonderful park you have there and all the friendly people working there!

How nice it was to visit someplace with a family atmosphere and so very clean and yet affordable.

I hope we can return soon!

Sincerely,

Donna K.

Play Day memories

I've been meaning to write an email to all of you nice people at Holiday World to say thanks for the great time we had at Play Day this year.

I am the father of two boys who both have autism (older son is very autistic, the younger has a lesser case) and once again we attended Play Day.

It is hard to say how nice of a thing it is that Holiday World does by closing the park to allow kids that might not otherwise get to enjoy the park to have a good time.

We look forward to it every year.

My youngest son asks daily to go to "Holiday World and Splashin" because he loved the fountains in Holidog Town (he was one of the kids in blog picture).

We are going to try and go this coming week and take in the water park.

Anyway, it is a great thing that you guys do and I just wanted to let you know that we appreciate that special day every year.

It speaks volumes about the people of Holiday World for this to be your favorite day because it's also our favorite day. We look forward to it every year. The fact that you guys donate so much money, time and effort to the community of the disabled shows what kind of people are involved in your great park. I am sure that you guys will keep up the great work!

By the way, my youngest son and I check out the Holiblog almost daily, as he wants to see the pictures and I want to read the latest hint on the future park addition! Can't wait to see what it is!

Please send our thanks to all of the Holiday World staff and also thanks to the Koch family for opening their hearts along with their park to these great kids.

Thanks,

Unlimited fun

Thanks for such a great time!

Our family just visited Holiday World and Splashin' Safari, and we will be talking about it for quite a while.

It is so refreshing to find a family-oriented place that we can take our children to have so much fun!

The prices are right and the fun is unlimited!

Family from West Virginia

I am a newcomer to Holiday World, but I just have to tell you thank you once again!

Last year I was cooking dinner when I heard something on the TV that was "Too Much." I don't remember if it was too scary, too gory, too realistic, etc, but it was too much for our Kindergarten son to watch. I quickly entered the room and flipped the channel to the Travel Channel, looking for something more mild for him to watch and I
went back to cooking.

I was busy with my own thoughts and didn't listen to the TV much except to know that it was a show on parks. Holiday World was featured and I still didn't listen. I assumed it was too far away to be appropriate for my family.

Then I heard it was an hour outside Louisville. My ears perked up and I heard the name of your park. A quick internet search landed me at your website. I spent a lot of time reading everything and planned a weekend trip.

I'm not gifted with words and I'm afraid I won't be able to express this clearly, but that weekend was the highlight of our summer.

Your park is truly a mom's getaway! The prices are reasonable, I don't have to carry
pounds and pounds of stuff throughout the day (you provide practically everything we need) and the park was truly relaxing.

My husband has special needs which limit his mobility, our children are of different
ages and ability levels and this makes for difficult, frantic outings as I try to be all places at once, helping everyone.

You have designed your park in such a way that parents have good visibility between
rides, you have enough friendly staff that I felt the kids would be safe if I
had to look away to tend to someone's needs for a moment, and in general you just made me feel right at home.

Your new HoliBlog continues that welcoming feeling into a new year. I have given your website to every mother I contact because when families visit your park, EVERYONE has a good time!

You take the term 'guest' seriously and I genuinely appreciate the effort behind the scenes and the smiles on your faces.

Every staff member we came in contact with was helpful, as concerned as I was with my family's safety and enjoyment, and a joy to talk with throughout the weekend.

The weather and illness canceled our trip for this month and we are working to arrange another trip this summer.

I don't know what the future holds, but I did not want to let another day go by without telling you once again how much I appreciate the friendliness, the
caring, the cleanliness, the value, the website, the behind-the-scenes efforts, and the planning and vision you have for Holiday World. It is a true holiday!

I can't think of many other things that leave that lasting of an impression a year later.

Thank you for all of your extensive efforts!

Karen T.
Charleston, West Virginia

PS, Please send a special thanks to those who work on the website.
Without the site, I would never have had the information or desire to
visit your park. Thank you!

North Carolina family

My family and I visited your park this past Thursday while on vacation in Indiana.

We have been to numerous amusement parks but we all agree that the day we had last week was the best time we have had yet.

From the free Pepsi products, suntan lotion, free parking, smoke free/alcohol free environment to the extremely courteous staff and the military discount, it was definitely worth the trip.

Other theme parks should definitely take notice as you are THE family amusement park and an example all others should follow.

We also enjoyed the Total Praise show. Are there any other parks that have shows that perform music that praises our Lord and Savior? I haven't seen any. It was a nice break in the day to sit down and worship Him in song. Thank you!

By the way, is there any chance you'll be getting any more roller coasters, particularly metal coasters? I find them to be much smoother than wooden coasters.

Thank you for an absolutely wonderful time!

Where do I even begin about our visit?

First, we are from the St. Louis area, we are accustomed to a Six Flags/Branson experience.

This was nothing like any of those.

We LOVED camping at Lake Rudolph and have already signed up for the Halloweekend.

The shuttle ride to the park was very handy.

Upon entering the park, we already knew our layout thanks to the website and the park maps explaining where to go to avoid the crowds, it worked like a charm.

We had sat through a show at a different park with Looney Tunes characters in a Chevy Asto van. It was like a commercial that we gave up precious park time to sit through.

It was great to receive FREE refreshments instead. (We've bought Pepsi products all weekend long in appreciation.)

Second, We were at another location where the teens were there only for a paycheck, not because they wanted to be....we tried to understand, thinking that we were probably like that when we were young...

Instead at Holiday World every park attendant told us to have a great day when the ride was over....What a pleasant suprise.

The cleanliness was amazing. We never found a full trash can, or saw flies or even caught an odd whiff.

Another nice suprise was how well manned everything was, even in Holidog, we were suprised to find attendants up in the towers. It was nice to find someone looking after the children to see they were safe.

This doesn't even begin to touch on how amazing the water park was and how exciting the rides were.

Thank you for a wonderful vacation.

Choir visit

My name is Ronalli, and I am 13 years old.

I, along with my church choir, went to Holiday World two weeks ago.

I just wanted to say that I had a blast at Holiday World and Splashin' Safari!

I have to say you have the best service by far.

I don't think any park can match your cleaness and service.

The waterpark was really fun.

I'm really glad I got to go there! I'm sure all of my other friends feel the same.

Thanks for a great time!

"The one Pat Koch just cleaned!"

My family and I visited Holiday World and Splashin' Safari on Thursday, June 16.

Yes, Mrs. Koch was out greeting guests as we arrived, as always.

The best part of our day was while standing in line at the Zoombabwe Grill, the guest in line ahead of us yelled to his family, "Grab that table over there."

Upon getting a blank stare from his wife, he yelled again, "The one that Pat Koch just cleaned." We all shared a good laugh, yes, she does go out into the park and clean, just like her commercials.

We had a great time, Bahari is beautiful.

Thanks to all, keep up the good work,

An exception

I just wanted to comment on the fantastic way your park is ran. It was our first visit on Friday June 17th. We were there all day and stayed at Lake Rudolph Campground.

The employees all around the park, Splashin' Safari and the campground were so friendly and watched over the water park with great pride.

Not often in today's world do young adults treat others with kindness and respect.

But Holiday World is an exception.

Everyone is always willing to complain but a good comment sometimes goes untold.

I will definitely recommend Holiday World for a fun-filled weekend.

Thanks Again!

Never in my wildest dreams...

My name is Nicole and we visited your park for the first time June 13 & 14.

We came with my sister-in-law and her family which had been there before. All I kept hearing was how fun it was.

I kept thinking... yeah, just like Kings Island, Cedar Point and every other amusement park out there, right?

I was so impressed with your park. The admission prices are great - bought tickets through my credit union here in Muncie, Indiana...and I think the unlimited soft drinks are the best idea ever.

I was really surprised at how neat and clean your park really is.

Compared to other parks I had been to I saw more employees at your park then any other combined that I had ever been to. Working hard with a smile on their faces and each one always took the time to say hi and chat for a moment.

I felt like we were the only 8 people in the park.

I am really surprised at the great time we had. I never in my wildest dreams would have thought the park to be so family-oriented.

I loved the fact that there were a lot of things my two-year-old son could do. He had the time of his life.

Splashin' Safari was great also. I rode almost everything there and was very impressed with each and every one of them. My two-year-old also had a great time in the water.

I just wanted to say thank you to all your staff and for making our first experience at the park fun and enjoyable and one we will never forget.

Looks like for the next 16 years we will be visiting Holiday World for our vacations. I prefer it over any other park and look forward to coming in the future.

To the Holiday World and Splashin' Safari employees, thank you. You are what makes the parks special and fun every day!

First-time visit

My family recently visited your facility on June 16th and 17th.

We had never been to Holiday World prior to our visit and I must tell you we were extremely satisfied with not only the rides but more importantly with the staff.

It seems we were always greeted with a smile and told to have a great day upon ending each and every encounter.

I have to say the other amazement was the average age of the staff and the constant professionalism that was displayed.

The obvious other amenities, free drinks and sunscreen in my opinion would not matter to families if not for your above average staff.

We have voted and Holiday World has become our new summer stop. We have expressed our outstanding service and satisfaction to our many friends and may even join them in a trip later this summer.

Thank you and your wonderful staff;

At a loss for words

I just wanted to tell you about a recent visit I had to your park.

I live in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and was going to be in Nashville on the 4th of June so I decided to take the boys on a theme park spree.

We spent the afternoon of the 4th at Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville, Ky. I found this park to be hot, poorly shaded, and very over-crowded, to the point that they should have stopped anyone else from entering the park. It was really bad, you couldn't even move through the walkways for the crowd.

I spent the night in a hotel near your park and even though I had only read about your park on the internet I was not really expecting what I found when I arrived.

I cannot express in words how impressed I am with your park. We were on the first run of Raven that day and it truly was excellent. Your park is so clean it is simply amazing, I rode rides until I couldn't ride anymore.

My boys retreated to Splashin' Safari for the afternoon and I took in the shows and some really good food. I spoke with your performers after both the shows I watched and told them how impressed I was with them and truly they were better shows than Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom had.

I am just at a loss for words over how impressed I am.

Your restrooms are cleaner than the restauraunts at SFKK. I had an excellent day and wished I had more time to stay. I wish I had heard about your park sooner, it really is quite a distance from me but I will be back.

The next day on my trip was spent at Six Flags St Louis which really is an excellent park too, not quite up to your standards but very nice.

I spent my first week back at work after my trip telling everyone about Holiday World. The only thing I would like to see added to Holiday World would be a steel coaster, and increased capacity on The Legend. Thanks for an excellent visit.

Keep Up the Good Work,

Visitors from Ohio

My family and I were at the park on Monday and Tuesday this week.

To start with, I can't wait until next year, so we can come back.

From the moment we walked through the gates, we were treated better than we deserved.

Your park is beautiful.

It is one of, if not the cleanest amusement parks we have ever been to.

The staff is the friendliest, most polite staff I have ever encountered.

The rides were all well maintained and well staffed.

The water park was extraordinary. We spent both mornings there and enjoyed every minute.

Again, the staff was excellent.

There was a little girl that had scraped her knee (Monday), and the guard that tended to her was exceedingly kind and gentle. It wasn't my little girl, but it put me at ease seeing how it was handled.

From top to bottom the staff is fantastic. We enjoyed the shows, especially the "Total Praise."

Whatever else you change, leave that show in the lineup. It was wonderful.

Again, let me commend all of the staff for a job very well done.

Thank you, and we look forward to joining you again next year.

Sincerely,

Bill T.

Playing in the waves

My family visits Holiday World one or more times each summer. We look forward to checking out what's new each year. We visited on Thursday June 16th.

We wanted to let you know that we love the Bahari. I particularly felt more comfortable letting my children (8 and 5) play in the the waves there, rather than I did in the Wave (which I personally love). I can't pinpoint whether the waves aren't as big, or it's just the water isn't as deep or what.

Last year we visited a close Great Flags park and were so miserable. We couldn't believe that we spent close to $70.00 for one meal there and we can eat for about $20.00 or so at Holiday World. We found ourselves choking back a gag every time we had to fork over close to $5.00 for a fountain drink. (Spoiled are we?)

Also the waterpark there is just boring when you compare it to Splashin' Safari. And I don't want to even tell you about how funky the bathrooms there were....

We love how friendly your staff there is...you can make a request and not feel like you're putting someone out. I also think it's a nice touch that you hand out the Holidog and Friends cards to the kids as they leave. The younger ones especially seem to love that.

Thanks again,
Stacey and Patrick M.

Planning two days for next year

We visited Holiday World on Tues June 14. Just wanted to let you know we are already talking about how we can make it a 2 day visit next year.

The park was clean. All of the young people --slide attendants, guards, ride operators were friendly and helpful. If I could have tipped each one of them, I would have. And the Lord more than did his part -- He gave us a magnificent day.

There was a girl, I wish I'd have seen her name clearly, Mary or Marci (not sure at all) that steadily walked her half of Monsoon Lagoon. She looked at the area like she was guarding her own children and even had energy for a smile. Thanks again.

Thanks so much for a wonderful day.

Yearly adventure

To the wonderful staff at Holiday World and Splashin' Safari!

I just wanted to take a moment and commend you on an outstanding park.

My family and I recently traveled 3 1/2 hours to spend the weekend with you all.

The weather could have been better, but your park staff was outstanding. It rained on us the entire time that we were at Splashin' Safari on Sunday, but I was impressed that the staff was still out in the rain making sure the park was clean.

Some friends of ours introduced us to the park last year and we decided to make this a yearly adventure.

This year, we took my in-laws and my brother-in-law's family. The nice thing was that there was something there for all ages. Okay, maybe not me, but I am almost six months pregnant!

We will all be back next year!

I would also like to take a moment and thank the staff of Splashin' Safari. My husband lost his glasses while enjoying the water park. We searched everywhere for them and could not find them.

He went to Lost and Found and filled out the appropriate form. Ann called Monday to say that they had found his glasses and would be shipping them out that day. We haven't received them yet, but it is a comfort to know that they are on the way. It amazed me that the employees would go so far out of their way to make the guest happy.

Thank you for a very enjoyable vacation! We have recommended your park to many individuals in the East Central Illinois region.

God Bless!

New traditions on the way

I am just writing to tell you how much we look forward to coming to Holiday World one Wednesday every June.

I have been bringing my son (13) to the park every year since he was 5 and each year he has friends asking to go some time in April.

We enjoy the park so much because there is no alcohol and everyone must wear their clothes.

The free drinks are just a plus we would still come anyway.

This year I am just going as driver since I am expecting and can't do a whole lot. I guess I can stand around and hold everybody else's stuff.

Next year maybe we can start a new tradition with the new little guy. See you all on the 22nd with a group of teenage boys.

I will be the one pulling out my hair (just joking).

Keep up the good work

God willing we will have this one. Please pray for us.

Caravan of minivans

I just wanted to thank you all for the wonderful time we had at your park. To be honest, I wasn't sure how it would go. We had a caravan of people, actually three minivans. We are from far western Kentucky, Murray.

The trip was, as you can imagine, an adventure in itself. My wife had to travel about 300 miles with her in-laws and all of my sisters. She is a great person. Only once did she threaten to jump from the van. (!)

We took your advice and went to the water park first which was a good idea since it started to rain Friday morning. We all had a great time at the water park. Even my parents, who didn't even get in the water (they "forgot" their swimming clothes).

That afternoon we went to the theme park. We started riding rides right after we walked out of the water park. The scrambler was the first. It was exactly what the name implies.

My youngest child is 4. The whole day all we heard was how she wanted to get to the dog coaster so she could ride. That afternoon she made it there. I bet she rode that roller coaster 15 times.

One of the best things about the park is the diversity of rides from Liberty Launch (which my brother-in law loved) to Santa Land.

My oldest daughter is 8. Last year was her first time riding a roller coaster (the Legend). Last year, after the ride was over, she just sat in the car staring straight ahead. I didn't know if we had lost her in one of the turns or what happened! After she had some soda she was fine. This year took a little convincing but she rode on it again and had a great time, I think.

My wife just came by and said this is starting to look like a book, so I will just say thank you again for all of the memories and the soda.

Thanks!

Spreading the word

Awesome job.

The Holiblog helps build up the excitement of the anticipated trip. It feels like me and my family have been at the park already through the Holiblog.

We're from the Champaign, Ill., area. We just wish there was an easier way
to get there from here. We usually take 41 through Terre Haute and it seems like they add about 20 stoplights every year.

Do you give out referral discounts?(grin) I think I'm personally responsible for about 50 people coming there last year. Some of them made a special trip from Chicago.

We have a ball there and I make sure that everyone I meet knows that.

I haven't heard of a negative comment yet.

Keep up the good work.

First off, I would love to tell you that the Holiblog is one of many great things Holiday World has come up with in the years since I've been coming to the park.

My family and I have been to Holiday World twelve out of the last fifteen years.

We've tried Kentucky Kingdom, King's Island, Universal Studios, and Disneyland. And through it all, there is no other park we would rather go to year after year than Holiday World.

My mom and I sat down a few weeks ago and tried to remember Holiday World before the roller coasters and ever before Splashin' Safari. We were wondering if you had a list of every ride and what year it was put in to place at the park. Once again, thanks for all the great memories for my family year after year.

Thanks,

Recent visit

I just wanted to let you guys know what a wonderful time we had this past weekend.

It was our first visit but definitely won't be our last.

Our boys, ages 5 and 6, had a fantastic time and are already asking to go
back.

We really appreciated the family atmosphere that you don't get at places like Kentucky Kingdom and Kings Island. We have recommended it highly to several families. It was so affordable and the free pepsi is an incredible deal. Keep up the good work and we will see you guys again in August.

Thanks so much,
Jil P.

P.S. the staff was wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!

Family friendly

We wanted to thank you for another fun family trip to Holiday World!

We attended the parks June 6 & 7. We live in southwestern Illinois and have been visiting Holiday World with our children for the past three years.

Our boys (ages 3 and 4...with one on the way) look forward to this trip every year.

They start in mid-May by dragging out the picture albums of our past vacations and begging daddy to play the videos of the rides they rode last year.

It is so refreshing to attend a FAMILY FRIENDLY park. The staff is extremely polite and friendly.

Everyone is helpful and we love the way the staff interacts with our children. They smile with them, laugh with them and get excited with them.

Our boys look forward to the "high-fives" every year as they ride the rides made especially for the little guys!

We love the soda, sunscreen and inner tubes. The food is reasonable and always well prepared and the park is beautifully clean...we even saw Pat Koch sweeping at Splashin' Safari this year!

Keep up the good work. We appreciate your park, your staff and your family friendly atmosphere.

See you next year!

Holiday World Rocks!

I've been to other theme parks (Disney, Six Flags, and Indiana beach) but my favorite is still Holiday World.

I've only missed out on going to HW one summer since I was 6, and I'm 21 now, but most years I come twice.

The other parks were too crowded and I had to stand in line for 4 hours at Disney for one ride. that was no fun. This year I am coming for my anniversary with my boyfriend.

I can't wait.

Just a quick note

Our Junior High School youth group from Lakeridge Christian Church in Paris, Ill., visited Holiday World this past weekend

I was fortunate to join my son and help chaperone 40 plus kids on this trip.

Our trip was wonderful!

Several times a couple of the kids decided they wanted to something different than what a few of the others were doing.

We spent the morning in Splashin' Safari. (Oh yea all the boys in my group said Bahari Rocked!)

After some of us wanted tacos and few others wanted corn dogs.

I was able to get my tacos and allow the two other kids to go get their corn dog unassisted or chaperoned.

As I felt totally secure and at ease with letting them roam HW without supervision.

(Funny part tho is they found corn dogs up by Holidog’s tree house but did not want to buy them there because they were by the “Kiddie” area and did not want to risk their friends thinking they were up there for the rides! GRIN)

Thank you so much for HW – It is SUCH A family friendly place.

I am hoping to return with the rest of my family again this year.

The only disappointment the trip was that the Raven was down and I did not get to ride it.

SO I WILL Have to come back for sure now!

Thanks again.

Smiles make the difference

Just wanted to say thanks for keeping Holiday World a family friendly place.

Your park is so clean!

I also appreciate requiring people to wear clothing over their swimsuits when they are outside of the waterpark.

That was something that always bothered me about some of the other amusement parks. eg (KI) It's kind of embarrassing standing in a roller coaster line with the person's gut or whatever else hanging out.

We are from Indianapolis and we meet my side of the family from St Louis at your park once a year. It's the perfect driving distance for both of our families.

P.S. The courtesy and smiles of your workers truly does make a difference. Keep up the good work!!!

I'm not one of those guys...

You know I'm not one of those guys who sends emails or letters to businesses. I don't call talk radio programs, just not my thing.

However, I want to thank you guys for the hard work that you do.

In a past life I worked in the customer service area for a major university in Atlanta. I know the time, training and commitment that it take to reach the level of excellence that you have achieved.

The truth is there are always more roller coasters, log rides, wave pools and funnel cake stands. The only thing that you have to truly offer is service to your customers.

My family and I came to visit on 06/03/05. It was one of those wet, cloudy days. We had to break the ice on the new wave pool and scare the penguins away (it was cold).

We might have had a bad experience but due to your staff, attention to customer needs and overall pricing structure for food and gifts we had a great day. (We will be back this July when it is warmer.)

I know the attention needed to maintain this level of excellence. I know the great amount of time and effort needed, but it is worth it.

Thank you for taking the time to provide a clean, friendly, affordable place for me to take my family.

I have seen the park grow from what it was in 1967 when I was first taken to sit on Santa's lap, I still have the picture, to what it is now. Yeah it has changed but I still feel the spirit and love that existed from my youth.

It makes my day to be greeted by Mrs. Koch as we come in and many times she is there to say good-bye.

That is the real deal.

Thanks for your hard work; it is appreciated.

I dont know if it was like this last year but I love the No-Smoking Policy. That alone will keep us coming back.

Lost and found

My family and I were enjoying a wonderful day at your park on June 1, 2005. when a mother's worst nightmare came to be, one of my youngest twin daughters was missing.

I am a single mother of five children to include a son and two sets of twin daughters.

My sister and I were franticly looking for her when I came upon Pat Koch who immediately took charge and had everyone in the park looking for her.

My little Sierra was found within five minutes.

Mrs. Koch stayed with me until I was reunited with my daughter and made me feel like everything would be ok.

After I had Sierra back she even told me a personal story about how she lost one of her boys in Washington Square Mall and when she found him he was happily eating suckers with the police.

I will enjoy bringing my children there all season and feel safe in the knowledge that in the event the unthinkable happens and one of them is missing, the very compassionate Pat Koch is there running a very secure park with the most caring and friendly staff I have ever seen.

Thank you so very much.
