Smoke-free visit

Dear Holiday World,

We want to express our appreciation to Holiday World for being a smoke free theme park.

As a part of Voice we are all for a smoke free environment and what could be better than a smoke free theme park!

We want to applaud the person who came up with this idea, it really makes a difference.

Currently, we are trying to do that same thing as you all did, make our county as smoke free as possible. It is places like this that makes our goal a lot easier.

Thank you,

Breath of fresh air

As my family and I are accustomed to traveling to amusement parks a little closer to home, we bit the bullet and made the 2 1/2 hour drive...with gas at $3.00 a gallon AND on a holiday weekend (Labor Day) to Holiday World. Since it had been almost a decade since our last visit, we weren't sure what to expect.

It was, however, one of the most pleasant surprises!

I was completely blown away by your park!

"Clean" doesn't do it justice.

"Friendly staff" doesn't even scratch the surface.

"Family-oriented" is an understatement.

Holiday World is, without a doubt the most wonderful experience of ANY amusement park--hands down! Not to even mention the free soft drinks and sunscreen--unbelievable!

Anyone can see that Holiday World's management is not just interested in making money, as is so common today, but rather making their patrons' trip a memorable and enjoyable experience. They truly succeeded!

I would also like to comment their staff for going above and beyond just doing their job--checking safety restraints and letting riders know the rules. They all acted happy to be there, which was a breath of fresh air compared to other theme parks. Having storage for bags, purses, and sandals is a great idea--not just "You brought it, you have to deal with it." And when the employees asked if they could hold my things while I was on a ride...WOW!

As for the prices, reasonable just isn't the word, especially at all your dining spots. A family couldn't eat for cheaper at McDonald's!

And Holiday World isn't just clean. It's impeccable. I didn't feel like I'd catch a disease walking around barefoot at Splashin' Safari, which is really saying something...

Having such a nice establishment and staff makes everyone have a much nicer time and even makes all the patron's more relaxed and friendlier. It's a win-win situation.

I just want to thank everyone at Holiday World for making my and my family's experience there so wonderful! You are all to be commended for a job well done, and we will recommend you to all of our friends! We look so forward to our next visit to Holiday World!

Thanks again!

Fun with four sons

I just wanted to congratulate you on receiving the honor of the friendliest and cleanest park in the world.

I have four sons (ages 3-10) and have only taken them to an amusement park once (in 2004.)

Many people told me I had to take them to Holiday World & Splashin' Safari. So I took my three oldest boys and they had a blast.

Even my oldest son, who is autistic and didn't ride many of the rides, had fun and has the map of the park hanging in his room. He won a Pokemon stuffed animal that day and it is his prized possession.

Even though we can't go every summer, we plan on coming again. Thank you for your hard work. It is greatly appreciated.

"The sun came out!"

I just had to write to tell you how much our family enjoys Holiday World.

We moved to the Cincinnati area in 2001. That year, we went camping at Patoka Lake, and on a rainy morning, we packed our two young girls into the car to go for a drive.

As luck would have it, the sun came out as we arrived in Santa Claus. We pulled into the parking lot of Holiday World, and decided on the spot to spend the day.

We had a fantastic time.

We were so impressed with the park's clean and neat appearance, the beautiful treed property, the friendliness of the staff, and of course, the amazing value. The ticket and concession prices are more than reasonable, and the free soft drinks make a day at your park an unbeatable deal. The food is definitely a step above the usual amusement-park fare.

We have been back every year since, and every year we bring more people with us. This past summer, there were 8 families that came, camped together in Lake Rudolph and enjoyed your park for 2 or 3 days. For next year, we already have 14 families signed up, and that number is sure to grow.

Everyone agrees that the size of the park and number of rides is perfect, and the water park could not possibly be better. I think the adults have more fun than the kids!

Keep up the fantastic work, and we'll see you in 2006!

Best regards,

First visit to the park

I just wanted to drop a line to let you know what a GREAT park you have!!!

This was our first visit and we loved it!

The free beverages were wonderful!

Thank you so much for having an amusement park that feels like it is made for us, the guests, and not to make the all mighty buck!

Every employee that we came in contact with was friendly and courteous. Don't change a thing and keep up the good work!

We will be back every year!

Thanks again,

"How refreshing"

I just wanted to give you an update on our weekend trip to Holiday World.

First of all let me just say it was the best time we've had there. I was a little nervous about going on a holiday weekend. I thought for sure (even thought your website says Labor Day isn't usually busy) we would be standing in long lines and fighting crowds.

I was amazed!!!!

There were a lot of people but there were NO lines. My kids and my niece and nephew rode everything, multiple times.

We had the greatest time.

It's hard to pick a favorite ride because they are all so wonderful.

As I said in my earlier e-mail, you should all be proud because it is such a wonderful place. I can't imagine taking my kids anywhere else.

There aren't many places you can take your family on vacation and not go broke. Holiday World will ALWAYS be number 1 on my list.

We appreciated the free drinks and the sunscreen, as I forgot to pack any. And the fact that we ate supper in the park both nights and fed our family of five on less than $25.00.

Your employees are Wonderful!!! I wish I had gotten the name of the girl who was running the log ride, but I didn't. Right as our log was about to go into the tunnel my 6-year-old niece panicked and jumped out of the log, the girl who was working grabbed her and watched her until I got there. (There wasn't time for me to get off.)

I was very relieved to see Madilyn standing there when the ride was over, I was scared that she might run off or worse. So I just wanted you to know that your employees are kind, respectful, polite and responsible.

There wasn't a time in two days that when we were exiting a ride that your people didn't ask us if we had a good time. How refreshing. We can't wait until next year.

Thank You for the great weekend.

You don't have to be a millionaire

I took my family on a weekend trip to Holiday World this Labor Day weekend, and I just had to write and tell you how much we enjoyed ourselves.

We bought tickets for two days and we had a five dollar "send a friend" coupon, which was nice.

I had my 83-year-old Grandmother and my two-and-a-half-year-old daughter with me, as well as my husband and sister. We visited Holiday World Saturday and Splashin Safari Sunday.

Your park is every bit as clean as your commercials say.

Your staff is also deserving of all of the friendliness awards.

The part I really was most impressed by is that you don't have to be a millionaire to enjoy yourself at Holiday World.

My family has always taken our driving vacations "on the cheap." In this day and age, it's easy to feel like everybody is out to get your last dollar.

It meant a great deal to us to feel that we were welcome to bring our own food and that we had a nice picnic area right outside the park provided to us, with restrooms, shade and picnic tables.

On Sunday, we chose to eat our lunch at Splashin Safari, and we were pleasantly surprised that your prices on food are reasonable. Everyone thought the food was delicious.

My Grandmother is recovering from a broken hip. The $5 wheelchair rental fee was the best money we spent all weekend. It was more than reasonable and turned out to be a godsend for her. We were even able to easily lift her onto an inner tube for that little river attraction.. is it Congo River? She really got a kick out of that. She didn't expect to be able to do any of the water park attractions.

I loved the fact that there was so much for my preschooler to enjoy, from the plentiful kiddie rides to all of the areas designed for kids her age in the water park.

I will recommend your park to everyone I know for a wonderful family get away.

Thank you so much and we'll see you next year!
