It's weird to have a news director ask me to embargo a story, but I agreed.

Usually, the shoe is on the other foot. We try to get information about announcements and events in the news media's hands several days before the actual release date and time. You hold your breath, hoping that no one spills the beans and betrays the "embargo" notice.
