hmm this looks like a new rollercoaster, hopefully one like the legend and raven and not one as long as the voyage

Maybe another addition to the already wonderful Splashin Safari or perhaps a revival of The Banshee ??????

Unless they played silly tricks with the picture like making it into a mirror image, this would have to be taken from the field on the Thanksgiving side. The lift hill is going up left to right, and you are looking back to the left more, so I'd say your a good 100-200 yards beyond the resturant, and way out in that field towards the highway.

I check the holiblog every few minutes and i saw that there was a new ride, there are some clues,,, medium rare, it could be a place that serves food or it could be a rollercoaster that is medium such as the legend. with the voyage being in the back it must be a coaster because it is exactly fixated on the voyage and the orange flags but that may represent where it is and the splashin safari started a project to expand so it might be part of it,, and i saw construction down by the bahari so check it out, i really hope it is turkey themed bumperboats
6/18/08 4:04 PM
I say a water coaster like Deluge at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom.
6/18/08 4:17 PM
it has to be a rollercoaster because they didn't even start this early for the voyage, i mean if it was some little restaurant they would do it when the park is closed. even if it was some ride as big as gobbler they wouldn't start until the winter. it has to be a rollercoaster or a new section and like previously commented there is a bunch of space and it has to be facing away from the splashin safari.it is a rollercoaster
6/18/08 4:29 PM
I'm pretty sure "medium-rare" just refers to the stakes in the picture and has nothing to do with what is coming.
6/18/08 4:43 PM
Let take a step back and look at this...
Paula made the reference of medium rare, which is related to steak. Steak is a form of meat, which comes from cows. Cows drink water; water which could only be used for one type of attraction...
AQUATRAX!
=)
6/18/08 4:51 PM
it's pretty soon for another coaster already.. holiday world is still basking in the glory of it's greatest creation, the voyage.. no need for something that big quite yet. besides.. they've been doing a coaster about every 5 years. much too early.
6/18/08 5:26 PM
I know! It's one of those games where you run out, put your head on top of the stick and spin around it until you're dizzy, then you run back.
Who needs a new coaster when you have that?
Paula, don't you know it's a federal offense to keep coaster enthusiasts in the dark? ;)
6/18/08 6:18 PM
Maybe it is a baby size wooden coaster for the kiddos that aren't quite big enough to ride the adult size wooden coasters. They have the mini coaster in Holidog's Fun Town but other than that the kids have to wait til they are 48 inches tall to ride (which my little one hopes that she meets that goal by the time we head to HW next week).
6/18/08 7:49 PM
Finally.....you are going to link the RAVEN, LEGEND and VOYAGE so we can ride from one end to the other of the park on the WORLDS BEST WOODEN COASTER!!!
6/18/08 8:54 PM
Let's be real. The marking are on the opposite side of Voyage from the water park and that's no place to build a new coaster.
My guess is this is where the new receiving warehouse containing a section for frozen foods will be.
Sounds juicy.
6/18/08 9:05 PM
Why must you leave us in the dark? I really have no idea on what this could be. I'm thinking it is either a new ride or a resturant. I'll stay tuned and find out this mystery
6/18/08 10:00 PM
We Ate in the back section at the restaurant in Thanksgiving land on our last night there about a week ago and noticed what looked like some random construction. My husband and I both agreed it looked like that section was going to be bigger.
Yay for all of us!
Thank you HW for making such a wonderful happy place for our family.
6/18/08 10:04 PM
The stakes are in and on towards a new fsat peel the skin off of your face steel coaster I hope. Hope that the digging starts soon and pouring of concrete to support a huge steel structure. I am waiting!!!!!!!
6/19/08 9:08 AM
It COULD be a grilling restaurant (med-rare), which would make no sense really where it is...
What they need to do is connect Thanksgiving to splashin' safari. Would be totally more convenient and more foot traffic for the Plymouth Rock Restuarant where I think their margin is larger, anyway... But, I could be wrong...
A Water Coaster would be awesome, or something like the Screamin' Delta Demon from Opryland.
6/19/08 9:09 AM
Whatever it is, I am sure it will be family friendly and very well planned. Holiday World has never failed in that aspect before and I doubt they ever will.
6/19/08 9:46 AM
I think it would be cool if they got a giant log flume like Congo Falls at Kings Island.
6/19/08 10:16 AM
I want to have an awesome coaster that goes upside down and then crashes into something, one where everyone throws up after riding and 1 that is 20 minutes long woo hoo go puke
6/19/08 10:54 AM
I know it is going to be a coaster because i remember how when they were planning the voyage they made everybody squirm in June and then announced what it would be in July
6/19/08 11:17 AM
what a pun it would be (as well as a great idea) if they constructed a compact inverted coaster named
...................................
"The Mayflower Compact"!!!!
HA!!!
6/19/08 1:38 PM
Ok, not to bring anyone down, because i'm hoping for something big too. But, if anyone remembers the whole carpenter shop thing that everyone got excited about butturned out to be a staff building, this could possibly be the same idea because she wrote "here we go again", referring to the carpenter thing. So i truthfully beleve its just gonna be another resturant.
6/19/08 3:35 PM
Maybe it's going to be a pirate ship. (Did they have pirates when the pilgrims came over?) Anyway it would be fun.
A good restaurant wouldn't be bad either--as long as it's dine in with A/C. With the campground next door, maybe the restaurant could have extended hours past the regular Holiday World season.
6/19/08 5:18 PM
The return of the HoliHints!
You've got me all riddled with anticipation once again, Paula!
6/19/08 6:31 PM
Maybe some type of ship like ride called the Mayflower, or the Nina Or whatever those boats were named. Just imagine some type of boat that simulates being on the open water being tossed around. Or maybe this is a game where they get ideas for the future.
6/19/08 7:21 PM
umm first there is plenty of room on that side and it could just be narrow and night wide like the Raven and secondit couldn't be a carpenter shop because the stakes are in the ground in a form that looks like a rideor something that is curved(i will sheck it out tomorrow though. They wouldn't put stakes in the ground for a restaurant.
6/19/08 9:29 PM
UUUMMMM. Rare could also mean something very hard to find elsewhere and one of a kind. Paula your driving me crazy, but in a good way. :0)

6/19/08 10:29 PM
Well...has anyone given any thought to a mine train coaster? The word "mine" in the post reminded me of it, though I'm not implying that was the intent of the post.
6/20/08 1:57 AM
I really enjoy going to Holiday World and riding the wooden coasters, but hopefully they are putting in a good steel coaster. Putting in a steel coaster does not make it any less family fun. I know a lot of families who go to Kings Island and Cedar Point who all ride the coasters together.
6/20/08 8:04 AM
It could be a stell coaster called mayflower that goes upside down, underground, and is taller than the voyage
6/20/08 11:59 AM
Look at an image of the park map - this is snuggled right at the back of Thanksgiving. I would guess that it's a swinging ship or something like the Banshee, except for the fact that they wait until after the winter to build most of their rides... Maybe it's some kind of little kid area like Holidog Town.
I personally wish that it was the makings of a transportation monorail or train that loops the park for tired guests.
6/20/08 2:33 PM
STEEL OR ANOTHER!
BUILD IT AND WE'LL RIDE IT!
B&M OR INTAMIN LOVE TO SEE ONE OF THESE AT HOLIDAY WORLD
6/20/08 11:33 PM
I would like too see a GO KART'S attraction go into Hoilday World.I think that would make a great addition too the park.
DAVID SHEFFER
PS:I LOVE YOU HOLIDAY WORLD AND THE STAFF AT HOILDAY WORLD YOUR THE BEST.
6/21/08 12:26 AM
I hope it's a roller coaster!!!!
6/21/08 9:48 AM
I don't know what this is, but I would like to see a haunted house squeezed in somewhere over in Haloween!
6/21/08 8:25 PM
Just rode the water coaster, Deluge at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom and Holiday World needs one bigger and faster for the water park addition!!!
6/22/08 9:29 PM
Paula we need more clues!
6/23/08 5:37 PM
RARE!!!!!! Wouldn't it be rare to have a steel coaster in the park??
6/24/08 2:00 PM
This sounds interesting. Now this is what I think, it is a bit far fetched but, Medium-rare "steak" Steak comes from cow. Male cow is bull. Bull holiday would be something latin such as Cinco de Mayo or Day of the Dead. OR steak meaning like a vampire steak and yeah, you get thepoint
6/25/08 1:24 PM
>>I don't know what this is,
>>but I would like to see a
>>haunted house squeezed in
>>somewhere over in Halloween!
+1,000,000 !!!
6/25/08 3:16 PM
LoL! C'mon, folks, let's be honest, the 'steaks' she's referring to are the s-t-a-k-e-s in the ground. We're reading WAAAYYY too much into this! I doubt it's another eating place.
6/25/08 7:38 PM
1. The stakes are on the opposite side of the water park, so I'm almost certain that it isn't anything to do with the water park sadly. Personally, I really wish they would do a water coaster someday.
2. The title was obviously a joke relating to the stakes in the ground. It has a minor possibility of being related to what will be there, but I doubt it.
3. Here we go again could have a few different meanings, but I'd rather not make this more technical than it needs to be.
My prediction is that it is either another staff-related building or a minor expansion of the Thanksgiving section. (i.e. a new ride)
6/27/08 7:52 PM
Hmmm, possible an inverted steel coaster? it is LONG overdo.
6/27/08 9:40 PM
Hey i got really close to it. Don't ask how and the stakes are in a square and they don't look like a coaster at all unless it is as small as the howler. It looks like a building, it is probably Paula just making everybody worked up over nothing. that is cruel
6/29/08 8:45 PM
Medium Rare... Mmm you say... Holiday World do not have steel coaster other than Howler which make it rare. So it is medium size steel roller coaster that is name after a Steak! That's strange...
Can't wait to see your next clue to the mystery addition to Holiday World.
7/3/08 9:03 AM
I can't stand this craze of theme parks starting all of thier projects in June and July (wayyy in advance in my opinion) just for marketing, it may even be a resturaunt. I think they are playing with us because The Legend came 5yrs after The Raven, and The Voyage came 5yrs after The Legend. -------------------------------------------------------------------------Paula knows something we don't... . By: Cameron
7/13/08 7:43 PM
That is very true, they already have a great eatery in the Thanksgiving area. I doubt they would construct another. I agree that us coaster enthusiasts may be jumping the gun on this one. By: Cameron

I want to put my money on this could be Laser from Dorney Park since it's been sold.
7/28/08 9:05 AM
I heard something about Laser from Dorney park coming here. It did just recently sell, so who knows.
7/28/08 9:38 AM
I like the Gobbler getaway so maybe it will be another cool (meaning A/C cool) indoor ride. Whatever it is I am sure it will be fun.
7/29/08 2:05 PM
they wouldn't do a teaser for laser, that would be nothing but a let down.
8/11/08 6:53 PM
Hopefully it's an Intamin woodie similar to El Toro or Balder, or maybe an Intamin LSM coaster like Speed Monster?!
