A sneak tweet
Okay, let's do it.
Back in July of 2005 when we announced The Voyage, I had a ball that morning posting all sorts of quick notes on the HoliBlog. But this year won't be so easy, given how far the site is from my office.
So the first to find out "what's new" on Tuesday will be our loyal "followers" on Twitter.
Now, don't worry if this isn't your thing. The microblog posts also show up just to the right of our latest HoliBlog post. (Where it says "holiday world is on twitter. See?)
But if you want to be one of the cool kids and you're fine with receiving text messages, but sure to sign up with Twitter. Here's our page.
Oh, and other than any text messaging costs you may incur (depending on your cell service) it's free.
Just like that new service we're getting ready to announce.

Hmmm, Paula, you have a ball posting comments every year before an announcement. Why would you mention the time before The Voyage. Oh sweet gravy it is a new coaster.

uhhh Paula is tricking us and makeing it seem bigger than what it is. I have already compiled everything on paper until I took out a few factss that were just put there to bring you around in circles. I cannot say what it is but here is some hints, take out the hint about 2 fact sheets that is just a circler. It all makes sense in my mind after that. There is a new ride that has been designed and Holiday world had to have bought that design.

I am so glad that paula is going to use tweeter from the JOB SITE. I will be at work and will not be able to connect to the internet. So I will have my phone with me and will be able to receive the texted messages from her. I like tweeter. I was in the park the other day. I was at the main gate and was heading down to the thanksgivin section to ride the voyage. I felt my Phone Vibrate and looks down at it. It was a post from paula saying that the Voyage will open late today. Since that was the case I stoped at the legend instead. I will have my phone at my side on the 26th... I cant waite till they announce the new attraction for 2009....

Who ever was talking about the circles is a genious! But do you know anymore about this: coaster or flat, wood or steel?
Plz put you name at the end of your post, so we can tell who is saying all of these ingenious things!
8/21/08 7:39 PM
Paula, trick us, yeah right. Maybe to keep us guessing but she would never over promise and under deliver. Thats just not in her nature.
8/21/08 7:44 PM
I got it! it makes sense to me now! Ive did some research and thier is a Scotland, GA, which is fairly close to Six Flags over Georgia and they have Deja Vu!!! It fits all the hints: lift, tall, drop, vertigo.

Alliteration? You mean like Gobbler Getaway and Turkey Twirl? Must be something in the Thanksgiving section...
8/22/08 10:01 AM
Paula,
You folks are good, VERY good, at keeping a secret. The CIA could take lessons from you.
I've tried to get information from may sources in the area, including government and construction companies, but NO ONE will either talk about it or admit they know ANYTHING!
I'll just have to wait for the annoucement like everyone else.
8/22/08 10:16 AM
When did you change the name of Turkey Whirl?
8/22/08 10:50 AM
Who does better at keeping an announcement under wraps - Holiday World or the Barack Obama campaign?
8/22/08 12:45 PM
Alliteration... Its Turkey Whirl not Twirl. There are many rides with alliteration... Rough Riders, Scarecrow Scrambler, Liberty Launch, and Gobbler Getaway. However the two Water Rides... Raging Rapids, Frightfull Falls, and Paula saying again leads me to think this will be a water ride. Could Tuesday come any faster.
8/22/08 12:50 PM
Swinging Ship? That is barely an alliteration and not original at all!
8/22/08 1:51 PM
i know this may sound stupid but how about the Thanksgiving Thriller????
8/22/08 2:05 PM
It all makes since!!!! If it was a roller coaster it would have to be a permade steel coaster because they haven't even began to work on it. The the 4th of july section is right there and alliteration doesn't seem too Thanksgivingie to me so I would have to say that it is a B.M. hyper roller coaster some what like Goliath!!!!!!!! E- mail me Paula if I'm right ;)
8/22/08 2:30 PM
Justin, most B&M hypers cost a upwards of 20 mill, and the budget for this ride is well under 10 mill... sorry. Not to say I wouldn't like something like Goliath at Holiday World, however.
8/22/08 2:39 PM
One comment about the "B&M Hypercoaster", the cost 25 million and holiday world is budgeting 8.5
8/22/08 2:40 PM
Oh- one more comment to everyone. since we know the construction site... the title of that was Medium- Rare which means its going to be a medium thrill rating, but a rare ride... hmm.
8/22/08 2:49 PM
Mayflower Mayhem, Plymouth Pumpkins (that would be cool for the skylift, you know lookin like pumpkins, LOL)... I don't think it is a coaster. I do think it is a new design... I like the last comment, medium thrill, rare design. It is obviously in Thanksgiving, as that is their growth spot, unless they are gonna open something for St. Patty's day... which I DOUBT (at least not yet). Would be nice if the tweeters got a pre-pass on the first opening day, now wouldn't it be!!!
8/22/08 3:33 PM
watch this youtube video from when the Koch's were announcing the 2008 rides. when she jokes about the steel coaster they both said "it WILL come"
8/22/08 3:49 PM
A Huss Topple Tower? Don't those cost around 8.5 Million?
8/22/08 5:06 PM
Perhaps this New Ride is a Huss Topple Tower. Don't those cost around 8.5 Million? My first thought was Deja Vu from SFoG, but this would really fit the park well. :)
8/22/08 5:09 PM
Yeah, Ive been making comments about Deja Vu for about a week but nobody has really taken me seriously, so thank you for saying that!
But honestly all the hints seem to lead to that! It even says the words "Deja Vu" in one of the posts!
8/22/08 7:05 PM
It would be very sad to see the park waste money on a Deja Vu type ride..or even Deja Vu itself. There is a reason it is being sold, and I can't see Will buying a pre-designed coaster for his park. That is why all three coasters have been on the world's best list for so long, their unique! I wonder if the medium rare hint means a whole new ride or a new design on a classic?
8/22/08 10:40 PM
Whatever it is, I can't wait to hear the news come Tuesday!
8/23/08 6:52 PM
Maybe some day someone will offer better hotel choices and restaurants outside the park. Other than subway in town, we have to drive to Mariah Hill (great restaurant there called The Chateau) or farther having to drive all the way to Jasper for a decent place to eat.
Holiday World would serve itself well to have some nicer sit-down restaurants so you can sit down and eat near the end of the day and have more choices than junk food.
8/26/08 11:08 AM
Holy cow i cant beleive that the is gonna be a new ride! It looks really fun i just wish it were up now! But i will have to wait so while i do i will just be riding the voyage haha :-) Well i will just settle down about this whole new ride thing but i dont think i can OMG there is a new ride
lol jk L8er
