A sporting good ride
We're in the sports section this morning (the mention is about 2/3 of the way down).

Dust + Rainfall = Mud
And that's a good thing.

They're still moving dirt on the job site. Packing it down, too.
The rain was welcome. It was like walking on the moon out there, after the dry summer.

In case you missed the tweet yesterday, Will says the massive footer at the base of Pilgrims Plunge's lift tower will include 200+ yards of concrete in one enormous block.

Have you ever even eaten a bon bon?
A friend in Boston teased me just yesterday about, "After this weekend, you're all off till spring, right?"
He's a thousand miles away, but I know Rus ducked when he hit the "send" button. Them's fightin' words around here!
So I was tickled when Will addressed the topic in his latest blog post for BlooLoop.com.

Recipe from Mrs. Koch
Following a tweet about a magazine requesting a recipe from Mrs. Koch, we were asked to post it here.
“Santa’s Daughter’s” Christmas Citrus Chicken and Rice
Cook time: 35 minutes, Servings: 4
4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
1-3/4 cups chicken broth
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 cup uncooked regular long-grain white rice
3 Tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Sautéed orange slices.
1. Cook chicken in medium nonstick skillet over medium high heat for 10 minutes or until browned. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
2. Add the broth, orange juice, onion and rice. Heat to a boil. Cover and cook over low heat for 10 minutes.
3. Return chicken to skillet. Cover and cook 10 more minutes or until the chicken and the rice are cooked. Stir in parsley.
4. For appearance, sauté orange slices in a hot nonstick skillet until lightly browned.
5. Garnish chicken with orange slices.
I'm rather stunned the recipe didn't include one more step:
6. Clean up the kitchen. And the rest of the house while you're at it.

The meeting
Whenever I explain this blog to the uninitiated, I use the phrase "pull back the curtain." This online journal allows us to give you a peek behind the scenes. (It also permits me to use big words such as uninitiated.)
So today we bring you into a meeting.
It was a Pilgrims Plunge meeting, with a bunch of engineers and Sandor, the president of IntaRide.

That's Mike, one of our GMs on the left and Sandor on the right. He's from Switzerland. You wouldn't believe the stack of design paperwork he brought to the meeting. (But then, if you forget something, it's a long way home to get it.)
The meeting included talk about conduits and electrical panels. I amused myself by posting occasional tweets.
This photo is OTS (over the shoulder), with Sandor holding a design sheet showing the elevator tower.

That's Steve in the background. As Director of Development, he choreographs the construction dance.
Site work begins next week and should take 7-10 days. Then foundation work starts.
The tower will go up in a week.
Not a week from now. When it's time, it'll take about a week.
