Audition Information
Auditions for Holiday World & Splashin' Safari's 2013 musical shows will be held on February 16 from 12 noon to 4pm CST.
Please note: You must be at least 16 years old to apply. Holiday World is an equal opportunity employer and supports a safe and drug-free workplace.
Dancers
We are interested in well-rounded dancers trained in a variety of dance styles who can demonstrate technical proficiency. Our shows consist mainly of jazz and lyrical. Partnering skills, break dancing, tumbling, tap or other specialties are a plus.
Here's what you'll need:
- Character Heels
- Jazz Shoes
- Current Head Shot and Resume
- Appropriate dance attire
- You will be taught a challenging dance combination
- Arrive dressed, warmed up, and ready to dance
- If you have long hair, be sure it is pulled away from your face so that we can see your facials

You may be asked to return for callbacks after your audition
PLEASE NOTE: In order to be eligible for these positions, you must be available for Friday night, Saturday and Sunday rehearsals in March and April plus six days a week from May through August.
Singers/Actors
We are interested in well-rounded singer/actors who are trained in a variety of vocal styles who can demonstrate technical proficiency. Our shows consist mainly of pop, country, gospel, musical theater, and a capella vocal stylings. Skills in sight reading and acting experience are not required but are definitely a plus.
Here's what you need to prepare:
- Your best 16 bars of both a ballad and up-tempo vocal selection. Please start with your strongest song, as we may not be able to see both
- Your sheet music (in the correct key and with the correct cut), or CD accompaniment (NO recorded vocals)
- Singers who act, prepare a 1-minute comedic monologue of your choice.
- Bring a current head shot and resume
- We may ask you to learn a simple dance combination, sing a selection from one of our shows and/or read a simple speech
- You may be asked to stay for callbacks.

Costume Characters
Remember when you first met Holidog, Safari Sam and George the Eagle? Come share the joy of entertaining children and other park Guests! We’re looking for personable, animated people with fun, outgoing personalities. Performing experience is not necessary, but you should be able to follow simple dance steps and wear a full-body character costume.
Here's what you need to prepare:
- Be ready to have some fun with improvisation and big physical movement
- You may be asked to learn a simple dance routine

Wear attire that is easy to move in—NO jeans, please
To be a Costume Character, you must:
• Be able to stand for long periods of time
• Be able to perform in the humid Indiana temperatures
• Be able to lift and wear costumes weighing 45 pounds
• Be between 4' 11" and 5' 8" tall
Santa’s Helpers
- Mature, experienced, female performer with a jolly attitude and sweet storytelling/sing-a-long voice
- You may be asked to stay for callbacks
PLEASE NOTE: In order to be eligible for these positions, you must be available weekends in early May plus September and October, plus six days a week from May through August.
Technicians
We are interested in experienced Sound Technicians for a variety of attractions and shows throughout the season. All applicants must have great attitudes and be flexible. We interview most candidates for technical positions in the winter and spring. Positions for technicians will have starting dates beginning in the spring and continuing through October.
Please bring a current resume showing your technical experience and three letters of recommendation.
PLEASE NOTE: You must be able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, late nights, weekends and holidays.
