Air-time machine!

Roller coaster enthusiasts from around the world voted The Voyage the #1 Wooden Coaster on the Planet again in 2009! That's three years in a row!

"The Voyage is an air-time machine, with riders experiencing a feeling of weightlessness for a total of 24.2 seconds," says Holiday World's Will Koch. "We take the traditional out-and-back layout to the extreme, with one of the steepest drops on any wooden coaster in the world. The Voyage is 1.2 miles long, placing it among the planet's top three longest and fastest wooden coasters." The Voyage also has three sections of extreme, 90-degree banking.

"We've carved out five underground tunnels for The Voyage, which is a world record," says Koch. "And some of those tunnels are wide enough that we roar through them twice, creating a total of eight 'underground moments,' one of which includes a 'triple-down' feature."

Features
Most dramatic drops on The Voyage measure 154 feet (66-degree angle of descent), 107 feet (51-degree angle), and 100 feet (50.5-degree angle).

Size limit
New for 2010 are two Timberliner trains. We will post more information about the seat measurements when they become available.

Tips for your visit

  • Work your way up by riding The Raven first, then The Legend and finally The Voyage.
  • Wait till the afternoon to ride, as lines are shortest then.
  • Save one last ride on each for after dark.
  • Don't forget to leave any loose items you wish to keep, including those in your pockets, in the station so the seas don't toss them overboard.
  • Lockers are provided free of charge per ride cycle for any valuable items. Holiday World locker keys are permitted on the ride as long as they are properly secured.
  • For a smoother ride with a view, take a front seat.  If more air time is what you're after, head toward the back of the train.
