As usual, our academic team group from Dawson Springs, and all family members, had a great day at Holiday World today!
Your park employees were friendly and helpful and deserve to be commended for the help they gave us when one of our children was "missing" in Splashin' Safari for over an hour. Your staff member at Zoombabwe Grill and Supervisor, (Cheryl, I think), were great in getting the description, and alerting the security staff to be looking. We did find him near the Amazoom ride which he had enjoyed several times before being found by one of our group. He thought we had heard him yell to us from the Jungle Racer mat area to where we were sitting in the Grill seating area when he told us he was heading to the Amazoom. Needless to say over the music and that distance, we heard nothing. It was reassuring that your staff was so helpful as soon as they knew of the problem. The security person I talked to over by the new Kima Bay even took down phone numbers and additional information on the missing boy's description when I saw him there looking! It was a happy time when Dalton was found but several of us explained to him in no uncertain terms that he needs to be sure that the adults he is with know exactly where he is at all times. He did not leave our sides the rest of the day.
Again, I think your staff deserves the praise for their helpfulness during the very stressful time from his mom and the rest of our group as we searched for him. Thank you!!
We will be back with another school group in July and hope to come back again next year with our academic teams.
Of course, my family is planning a get together there also sometime this summer, as usual. We love your place and can't recommend it too highly to others.
In our opinion it is the best park around and we wanted you to know how much we love it and appreciate your staff, the cleanliness of the park and the overall value for the price.
Please keep up the good work cause we look forward to many more years of coming to Holiday World!
Thanks again for a truly wonderful day!
Sincerely,
Kathy K.

I just had to take the time to write and I find that I should have written a long time ago.
I have been to a lot of amusement parks and I can tell you first-hand that none compare to yours.
I am from St. Louis and drive at least 4-5 times a year in the summer to visit your park.
The park is always clean with a top-of-the-line friendly staff and reasonable prices. That all really counts in times like these. You offer free drinks all day long - that's half the cost of a day at the park, especially those hot ones. Sun screen at no cost.
Six Flags, St. Louis - this is what they have to offer - $15.00 parking, $39+ for a one-day ticket, $13.00 lunches, $13.00 souvenir cup and free refills the day of purchase and if you bring it back during the season, it's .99 cents a refill. $7.99-$9.99 for a funnel cake, $3.99 for a bottle of water; no drinking fountains, $13.00 locker rentals with no deposit return. Some rides do not allow you to take anything on the ride and they try to force you to rent a temporary locker for $2.00 for two hours max. They have no "cubbies" to store anything that you may be carrying. It is absolutely ridiculous.
I will not return to Six Flags as their prices are outrageous and it's a wonder they are still in business.
Please do not change the way that you run your parks. They are so family-friendly and so reasonably priced. With the economy today, you actually have an affordable great time.
I will continue to visit your park which is 3-1/2 hours away, as opposed to Six Fags which is less than an hour away.
I follow the quality. And your park is definitely filled with quality staff, cleanliness, facilities, pricing, rides, a water park, shows, meals, - need I go on? Just can't say enough.
I want to commend you on a job well done and for family time spent that is so precious to me.
See you soon!!
Oh, and you also have two girls that work there - Rachel and Ona (I think the spelling's right). They are absolutely wonderful and you should be so proud to have them as a part of your staff team. They don't come like that anymore, that's for sure! Please give them an "atta-girl" for us. Make sure you take care of those dedicated employees - they are few and far between!
Holiday World, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!
Thanks for the memories!!!
Love,
Mike, Nancy and Kyle C.

I surprised my 3 kids today with a trip to Holiday World to celebrate their first day out of school for the summer.
I had been to Santa Claus Land way back in the early 1970s but had never been back. I've heard nothing but good things about your park, so I decided to give it a try.
There were so many things to like!
First, it was so wonderfully CLEAN! The rides were nicely painted. The grounds were free from litter. The restrooms were spotless.
My youngest, age 6, saw an employee sweeping the sidewalk and commented, "Mom, this place gets an A+!" I'd have to agree!
The food was so very modestly priced. What a treat! I could actually afford to buy lunch AND a snack today! I can't tell you how thrilled I was to be able to feed my three kids and myself lunch, plus get them each an ice cream cone later all for under $25! I love the $1.59 cones and the $3.49 funnel cakes. What a refreshing change to not get gouged at the restaurant windows!
The free soft drinks and sunscreen go without saying. What a great idea! You have no idea how much we appreciated being able to get a free Pepsi or water whenever we were thirsty! Awesome!
Because it was cold today, we didn't have a chance to try out Splashin' Safari, but we'd love to come back when it's warmer and play some more!
One suggestion I would like to make for the future is for you to get a medium-sized roller coaster for smaller kids (and their not-so-brave parents!).
My youngest loves coasters and has ridden Expedition Everest, Big Thunder Mountain, and Space Mountain at Disney World. She is fearless and was looking forward to riding the ones at Holiday World when she saw them as we drove up. Unfortunately, I didn't check beforehand to look at height requirements, and she is only 45 inches tall, so she was excluded from the big coasters. She just cried and cried. I don't think I would have let her ride Voyage anyway (!), but it would have been nice to have something for her besides The Howler. She thought that was way to tame for her taste. Something with a couple of bigger drops, maybe like the old Scooby Doo at King's Island or Big Thunder Mountain at Disney, would be a great addition for those brave 6-9 year olds who just don't yet measure up.
Thanks for running such a nice, fun, affordable family park.
We had a great time here today, and we look forward to returning in the near future!
Sincerely,

Just wanted to let you know what a fantastic time we had at Holiday World on Saturday, May 24.
My five year old daughter had a blast and can't wait to visit again. She really loved the HoliDazzles Show.
My husband and I really enjoyed the show as well and loved the interaction between the cast and the kids.
Your staff was especially polite and it was very nice that we didn't have to put up with "attitude" from anyone.
Thank you again for making our visit so very enjoyable.

As usual, we had a great time on our annual trip to Holiday World & Splashin' Safari.
We mailed the comment card from Dale but just had to email anyway.
On the way out of the park on Friday, I finally bought the book on the history of the park. It was truly fascinating, and a lovely piece of history for the Koch family, the community and fans everywhere. We can't wait to return to look at the buildings and rides from a different perspective. Thank you for preserving the past while forging ahead for future generations!
Our family also attended the concert with Suzy Bogguss and The Marlins on Saturday at the State Park. Our heartfelt thanks for helping sponsor the concert. It was a wonderful event. Your generousity is greatly appreciated!

I just wanted to pass along a short story you might enjoy.
My husband and I are planning a vacation this year for the first time in several years.
We gave our children, ages thirteen and eleven, a choice of going to the upper peninsula of Michigan to a private fishing lake. There is fishing, canoeing, ATV’s, Lake Superior, even a bear ranch & lighthouses available, as well as, being a part of the country we have never been to.
The second option was to go to Patoka Lake and rent a cabin and a pontoon boat for a couple days and a day at Holiday World. As soon as Holiday World was mentioned that was the choice!!
We live in Indiana about 40 miles south of Indy and really assumed they would choose the Michigan trip. We are not disappointed, just amazed. So you really ARE the #1 Family Vacation spot for us!!
We plan to come the third week of June and just hope the weather is good for the water park as that is one of the thrills of the day!
Thanks for being so great & we’ll see you in June!

My family and I visited Holiday World on Wednesday, May 21st.
We immediately got phone find bracelets for our two boys and took pictures of them, (so that in case they got lost we would have a picture of what they were wearing).
We set off and were having a great day.
I was sitting in the Holidog's Play area getting intermittent glances at my boys going through tunnels and down slides when I got a cell phone call from Craig Koenig, telling me that he had my son by the carousel. I didn't even know he was gone! Thank goodness for Lindsey (Employee of the Week), who was walking through the park and happened to notice that my son seemed too young to be on his own and had "that look". She quickly contacted Craig Koenig and he called me. They kept Carter calm until I got to him, and calmed me down once I got there.
Needless to say, no parent ever wants to experience this kind of trauma, but I have nothing but the highest praise for the way your staff is obviously trained to handle these situations. We have always been so impressed with the park's friendly staff, but they really went over and above in this case.
My husband and I have been singing your praises for years, but now we'll be singing louder.
Many sincere thanks!

My wife, 3 children and I visited Holiday World for the first time last year.
We were very much impressed by the attitude of all the employees that we dealt with throughout the day.
Several times during our visit we saw examples of employees going above and beyond the call of duty to help make patrons of the park feel welcome. It is refreshing to experience this level of customer service from younger people.
Thanks for making our first visit to Holiday World the first of many visits. We are already making plans to visit the park again this summer.
Sincerely,

I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate that you provide a room for nursing mothers.
We visited your park last summer with a six week old baby and were able to have a great time because of the accommodations that were available to us.
We plan to visit every summer and we always tell people that Holiday World is the best place to go for summer fun.
Keep up the good work, and we will see you soon!

Hey there!
This is Cody K. I usually email you every year after my band trip to Holiday World. I got back from our trip on Saturday. It was a blast!
However, I got sunburned (again). The sad thing is that you all give out free sunscreen. LOL I did put a little on my upper back because that’s where I'm usually burned the worst and that's the only place that didn't get burned. HA! PROOF that Splashin’ Safari's sunscreen works.
I like the improvements to the park. Kima Bay will be most enjoyed by the little ones. I thought the Carousel was a good addition, except that the bumper boats were removed.
I have always been a chicken when it comes to roller coasters. The Raven was my first roller coaster ride when I was like 7, but I couldn't remember anything about it. So when I finally mustered up the courage to ride it again on this trip, I absolutely loved it. However, it was too late to go back and ride The Legend. But I definitely will ride it when I go with my family and who knows maybe I will ride the Voyage. (It’s still kinda big for me. LOL)
I hope I didn't discover some super secret about Holiday World but it seems that you all come out with a new roller coaster roughly every 5 years:
The Raven-1995
The Legend-2000
The Voyage-2006
So have you all gotten any ideas for a new coaster? Promise I won't tell anyone. And, what sort of ideas have you all thought of for 2009?
So, anyway, it was good emailing you again and I can't for the summer when I will visit again.
