"HoliWatch - what a wonderful idea!"

The HoliWatch is a wonderful idea.

I was watching a special on the travel channel about big water parks and it showed something like this and when I saw that I told my husband that Holiday World needed that.

When my children are in the park I can keep up with them via cell phones but when they are at the water park I tend to lose my 10 year old.

Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful Idea.

Thank You for this new addition to your park.

"Can't wait to ride Pilgrims Plunge!"

I just wanted to say thank you for having such a wonderful park. We come at least once a year and have a great time every time we are there. There is not a better, more family friendly park that we have found. The free soft drinks, cleanliness of the park, politeness of the staff and cost for BOTH parks is incredible.

We can’t wait for next year to ride the new Pilgrims Plunge. It looks like another world class ride.

We would love to see another coaster added and some additional changing facilities in Splashin' Safari in years to come. Oh yeah, and a much longer lazy river.

Thanks again, we are so fortunate to have such a wonderful park and family like the Koch's here in Indiana.

"What a wonderful discovery!"

Just a short note to let you know how much my family has enjoyed your parks over this last summer. We "discovered" Holiday World two years ago and enjoyed our visit so much, we purchased season tickets for our family for the next year.

Unfortunately, my husband unexpectedly had to have his knee replaced the following summer so we were unable to use the passes. But your people were so gracious in allowing us to exchange them for passes we could use this year. And boy have we! We've made the trip from Toledo (7 hours), passing several theme parks along the way, three times already. We're planning one more trip in the fall.

We appreciate the cleanliness of the park, the friendliness of the people, the courtesies such as the free sun screen, soda and parking, and the reasonable prices on refreshments and souveniers.

On our last visit, we noticed Pat Koch walking through the park and stopped her to tell her personally how much we appreciated this family adventure place. Again, we were marveled by the friendliness ~ she was so approachable and willing to visit with us for a few minutes.

Once again, thank you for providing a wonderful place for family to get away and bond. Please don't stop what you're doing!

"We had a fantastic weekend!"

Your park is fantastic.

My son wanted to go to Holiday World for his 14th birthday. SO we decided to make the trip.

We live in Brazil, IN and we stayed all night at the Comfort INN in Ferdinand.

It was a wonderful time.

To his surprise he spotted Pat Koch at the entrance to the part before the rope was dropped to the official opening for the day.

The food was fantastic and the cleanliness was great. Kudos' to the staff. They were very friendly and very helpful when needed.

It would be fantastic if there was a resort attached to the park.

The ultimate part of my oldest son's day was the Voyage.

My youngest son was being measured to know exactly what he could ride since he is a daredevil at age 6 and doesn't feel there should be ANY restrictions to the roller coasters. The young lady at the measuring station made a phone call to management to see if we could attach the band to his pants hammer loop instead of his wrist since he can't have anything on his skin (he will break out and itch). Management returned the call and said it would be permissible to attach it to his loop. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. You made his day.

While on our return home last night he was so excited to call his grandparents and tell them how much fun they had at Holiday World.

You made our weekend fantastic. I can how see why you are voted the best.

Mrs. Koch what ever you are doing to achieve this Kudos' to you. I was really surprised to see you at the park yesterday, I actually thought you were just behind the scenes and did the commercials. It showed me that you really do care and are a part of the every day operations.

Thanks again,

"Holiday World is worth the drive south"

Just wanted to let you all know that once again....for the 8th year in a row....we had a GREAT visit at Holiday World!!!

Last year 20 family members all came together and enjoyed it......and 9 of us made the trip this year.......another great day of FUN!!!

We appreciate the clean and smoke free environment...the free drinks all day long and the cheap food prices. The pizza was YUMMY!!!!

Thanks for making our summertime family tradition worth the drive south.

Have a great day!!

"Special" pizza

Well.. We made our way down to Holiday World this weekend.

We ate at the Kringle's Kafe'... I was SO pleased with the service we received. My son LOVED the soy cheese pizza. And the staff was really great about getting his pizza and keeping it away from "real" pizza. I could actually sit back and relax because I knew he was taken care of. You will never know how much I appreciate it!

Thank you so much!!!

Stephanie D.

I just wanted to relay to everyone there at Holiday World that my family and I had the best time ever at your park.

My husband and I have two teenagers and a 10 year old and we only spent about 1/2 hour on the amusement rides but then made a beeline for your water park. I am in my late 30's but I felt like I was 10 again. How much fun we had!

I also want to comment on how clean the park was and how nice the workers were.

We were very thankful for the free soft drinks and sunscreen. What a lifesaver! That is a wonderful perk to visiting your park. Please don't do away with that!

This was our first visit but it certainly won't be our last.

Thank you for such a great time!

Former employee returns every year

Just wanted to drop a note regarding our visit to the park this past Saturday.

I am a former employee (worked there some 20 odd years ago in the pizza station during my high school summers).

My husband and I and our three children have visited the park every year. We also have visited several other parks throughout the US which is the reason for my email.

Holiday World and Splashin' Safari continue to impress us in terms of cleanliness and overall park appearance.

The value of the park is another reason we keep coming back. Most parks charge for parking and add that to the $3.94 soft drink we purchased at Kings Island last month and the $8.00 chicken kid’s meal (with no drink); you just cannot beat the unlimited soft drinks and food prices at Holiday World.

This weekend we enjoyed the food at the Thanksgiving area for the first time -was excellent!

Even with the unlimited drink offer you would expect to see the paper cups littering the park - but I did not find one on the ground our entire visit on Saturday.

So in a nutshell - Kudos on a job well done!!

Gina J.

I just wanted to let you know that we really enjoyed our visit to Holiday World on Monday and Tuesday!

The workers are just as friendly and nice as ever; the other theme parks we go to are inconsistent in this area. Plus the Holiday World employees all behave so professionally, even the very young ones.

And I prefer to go to Holiday World over any other theme park because the attention to safety is such a priority. This is an area I have noticed, as a guest at other theme parks, has slipped over the years, but not at Holiday World!

And it was such a thrill to see Pat Koch in person as we entered the park!

It may sound silly, but one thing that really made the visit for us was that our 15 year old son with autism and multiple food allergies got to have chicken nuggets! Before he was diagnosed with allergies 11 years ago, they were a staple in his diet. Since then, he could only eat chicken nuggets I made from scratch at home. He was very happy to be able to have chicken nuggets at a restaurant again! Plus it was so nice for us as parents to be able to just walk up and order "Ian's Chicken Nuggets Combo" instead of saying "hold this, and hold that, and oh, does any of that have wheat or milk in it?" Thank you so much. He loved the chicken nuggets, by the way. And it was nice to be able to buy the Enjoy Life Snickerdoodles for him at the park. Normally he can't have any sort of treat sold at theme parks.

Thanks again to all for making our visit so nice!

Diane G.

I am writing to give many thanks to a park that is aimed at the entire family. We visited in early August and having two kids 5 and 4 years of age it is hard to find rides that they can do that are a little more exciting then your average “kiddy” ride found at fairs and other amusement parks.

My daughter thoroughly enjoyed riding the Howler roller coaster again and again. She can’t want until she is tall enough for the “big people” coasters as she calls them.

My son loved the fact that he got to drive a “real” car at the Lewis and Clark Trail. I didn’t think he was ever going to stop smiling.

Your game employees were exceptional and one young man at the fishing game even gave a “tip” on which fish was the big prize one which made the entire family happy.

Your concessions were well ahead of other major theme parks in price and portions. I was pleased to be able to feed a family of 4 for under $15 and everyone got exactly what they wanted.

The free drinks are a great addition and that alone is worth the price of entry.

The park was very very clean and employees were very friendly.

Thank you again for a great park. We enjoyed it so much we are coming back for the Labor Day weekend.

"Keep the park number one"

I wanted to say that I had a great time at your park last Saturday. To me I think its better than Dollywood and Six Flags.

Your park is so clean and the people that work there are so friendly and the food is so cheap and affordable.

I will be coming back that's for sure.

Just wanted to say keep up the great work and keep the park number one.

God Bless,

"Holiday World was by far the best"

My family and I were blessed enough this year to be able to take three getaways. We went to Disney World, Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and Holiday World.

Out of the three our two day trip to Holiday World was by far the most fun and relaxing. The others were great but the stress levels with four year old twins seemed to be a lot higher.

Lake Rudolph was the best sitting by a night-time campfire.

Park as always was spotless, and RV rental was excellent.

Thanks again, and we will be back!

"Exceptional help provided"

I want to let you know that three of your staff members provided exceptional help to me following my visit to the park with my family.

My family had a wonderful and exhausting day at the park on Saturday.

I stayed later than my husband and other family members so my 2 sons and nephew could take advantage of the short lines for the roller coasters.

Much to my dismay, I discovered my tire totally flat when I returned to the parking lot. Nick was operating the tram and came to my immediate assistance.

After an hour of waiting for maintenance, (the park was closing) Nick even began to help change the tire.

Shortly thereafter, Caleb from maintenance came to help and before long Mike arrived. These men showed me such patience and kindness.

I am always impressed by the courteous staff at Holiday World, but Mike, Caleb and Nick went above and beyond. I really don't know what I would have done without their assistance.

Keep up the great work and please know of my sincere gratitude.

Gratefully,

"Great Job, Tiffany!"

On Saturday, August 9, our extended family of 7 visited Holiday World for the first time and had a great time.

Our daughter, Melinda, is disabled and uses a wheelchair, but still likes to go on several of the calmer rides. We rode on the log ride around 2pm and Tiffany was very patient and helpful in getting Melinda in and out of the log.

All of your employees were professional, but Tiffany was by far the best.

Please say “thanks” to Tiffany for her excellent customer service!

We will be back next year.

My wife and I had never been able to afford to take our kids on a "family vacation".

My youngest son kept seeing commercials for Kings Island, and kept saying he wanted to go.

My wife and I both discussed the pros and cons of going to Ohio. We had both been there before and really wasn't all that impressed. The prices were outrageous for food and drinks.

Then the subject of Holiday World came up. So I logged on to the World Wide Web and checked everything out. The last time I had been to Santa Claus, Indiana, was when I was 10 years old. I'm now 32. I was completely impressed by everything I seen on the website. So we talked about it, and we booked our trip.

We found out about Lake Rudolph Campground through the Holiday World site. Did I mention that this campground is only 30 seconds away from the park? We booked our trip in late June, and just waited.

As the weeks went by the anticipation grew. We had heard so many things about how awesome the rides were and how great the water park was as well.

So the day finally arrives. August 8th, 2008. Our kids are 10 and 11, and this is our first family vacation.

As we are driving down highway 162 we caught our first glimpse of Holiday World. From about a half a mile away we saw The Voyage. Holy cow!!! This was gonna be fun!

We checked into the campgrounds and met up with some friends that were coming with us on Saturday, the 9th.

We get to the park as soon as it opens and head straight for The Legend. WOW!!! What a fun ride! My boys however, looking back were probably about a year or two too young. But hey, at the time we didn't think what we're thinking now.

After The Legend, we rode The Raven. Oh my goodness! I thought that The Legend was fun. It was nothing compared to the intensity of The Raven. There isn't a ride in Kings Island that can match the quality and sheer fright factor of The Raven! This is now my NEW favorite ride!!! Kudos!

We then did a few of the smaller more kid friendly rides. Then off to Splashin' Safari!

We did the Jungle Racers, and Zinga! That was awesome.

Then my wife and our friends decided to ride The Voyage. I didn't ride it for two reasons. 1.) My boys didn't want to ride it, so I stayed with them.
And 2.) Just looking at it scared the daylights out of me!

So after a short wait for my wife and friends, I happened to see someone that I thought was a park employee. I had a question about the park.

I approached the smiling man and asked my question. He very kind and happily answered. While he was answering, I read his name tag to catch his name so I could send a comment commending this kind and generous employee. Boy was I shocked and amazed when I read the name Will Koch. The President of Holiday World! He took time away from running a multi-million dollar company to answer my silly little question! That is dedication! Thank you kind sir. From the bottom of my heart.

Then my wife and friends exit the coaster and exclaim that there isn't a ride scarier! And my friends are originally from Florida (Disney). Plus they visit Kings Island about once a year!

With the first day wrapped up, we said good-bye to our friends.

Then we hit it up again on Sunday the 10th. The only real story to come out of Sunday was the Bakuli, in Splashin' Safari! I was so impressed with the SHORT wait time. Considering the line was very long. This ended up being my favorite water slide.

Later we checked out History of Diving! This show was so cool! After the show, the divers even took the time out of their lives to pose for some pictures with our kids. This I will remember for the rest of my life. Here you have a group of people who just worked themselves into exhaustion, taking the time to thank those that attended. Plus even show a bigger thanks by posing with the kids for pictures. Thank you so much! You guys did make a 10 year old boy's day!

I do have one suggestion to you on how to make this park better. And that is, don't change a thing!

The staff was so friendly, and caring. Even when they didn't have to be.

I felt very at ease with the fact that should we happen to get separated from our children, they would be in VERY safe hands with your staff! And that we would be reunited with our boys in no time flat!

So all in all, thank you owners, staff, and all around great people in Holiday World for making our first ANNUAL family vacation a memorable one. We have decided that we are going to do all we can to make sure we get to come back at least once per summer! You truly have made a lasting impression in all of our minds. And in my book, Holiday World is the Number One park in the Country!!!

Guest sees how good it is at "home"

I just wanted to let you know I recently messed up and went to Six Flags. It was the most horrific experience ever.

I usually come to Holiday World but my employer cancelled our company picnic so I took the family to Six Flags because I had some free passes. I realized quickly how much I truly love Holiday World.

We stood in long lines with rude people. We stopped and got lunch in the park and it was $91 for 3 people to eat. Air conditioners were broken in most of the buildings and ice makers either didn't work or were out of ice. It was a truly miserable day for my family. It seemed all this park cared about was making money from the $12 cokes to the renting an inner tube for the lazy river ride. I'm gonna beg you to never consider becoming part of their franchise.

I just wanted to let you know I will be coming to Holiday World every year regardless of my employers picnic plans. I'm sorry our picnic was cancelled this year but next year it won't matter because I will have my Holiday World tickets really early and be coming in early June.

Thank You for your time,

"Families won't go home broke"

My family and I would just like to take a minute to tell you about our visit on August 7, 2008. We visited with our 2 year old son, and we really had a great day in your park.

First of all, your park is kept exceptionally clean and neat. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the food prices don't break your budget. It's nice to see that the park management cares about family and fun, without having you go home broke at the end of the day. The complimentary soft drinks are also a very nice touch.

Keep up the good work, my wife, son, and I look forward to returning to your park in 2009, we really had a great time.

Ronald, Dawn, and Ryan B.

We were in your parks on Friday, August 1st. I just wanted to let you know that I fully understand why your staff was voted so helpful.

My family had chosen to take our family vacation in Holiday World/Splashin' Safari this year. Our family consisted of my husband, myself, our 2 daughters (12 and 5), my parents, my brother, and my nephew(2).

About halfway through our time in Splashin' Safari, my mother asked if I had seen my youngest daughter. I told her I thought she had her. She proceeded to tell me that my daughter had asked where I was and came to find me. I had not seen her. My mom, my husband, and my brother all split up to find her. I stayed where I was.

A lifeguard passed by me with a radio. I stopped her and asked if she could help me. She immediately called Lost Parents and they had not seen her. She sent her description out to all over her radio and then got a supervisor to speak to me.

While I was giving her the information that she needed, my husband approached and said that my older daughter and my dad were on the Watubee and that perhaps my younger daughter had followed without telling us.

The supervisor radioed someone to go through the line on the Watubee. That is where she was. She was with my dad and my older daughter.

In the fear of my daughter being lost, I unfortunately missed the names of the lifeguard and the supervisor who helped me that day. I know this letter is quite long, but I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the friendliness and the helpfulness that was shown to us that day.

We will continue to visit your park when we get the chance.

"Don't change anything"

I just wanted to let you know that we had a super experience at your park!!

We would like to compliment and thank you for the free drinks, free sunscreen, affordable food prices, clean park, smoke free atmosphere, etc. I could go on and on.

We were there on Monday, July 28th, and I didn’t worry about sunburn or heat exhaustion with the constant reminders of the sunscreen stations and drink oases. What a relief!!

We live in Northern IN, but we plan to make it a yearly destination.

My girls 3 and 5 were exhausted and totally entertained after a day there.

We are telling all of our friends Holiday World is a great family destination and worth the drive.

We plan to return for two days next year and the girls are looking forward to being ‘taller’ so they can ride bigger rides.

Please don’t change anything!!

Dollywood vs. Holiday World

A few weeks ago we went on a family vacation to the Smoky Mountains. During our stay there we went to Dollywood. The cost for our family of 5 was $320 (our 3 yr old was free-included in the 5). This cost was for 2 days and the third was "free". I wanted to share our experience with you.

The rides were very disappointing, only one was worth the time, they had very little for our 3 year old and the park was not very clean at all. The water park also was not that exciting. For the price we paid, we went 2 days and didn't even bother to go back the third day. We all agreed that Holiday World was the best place to go.

Although we only get to Holiday World once a year, I would never spend that kind of money to go to another park. Holiday World is still the best in our opinion and we wanted to let you know that.

And I also wanted to let you know that Dollywood had "free" tap water for their guest, and you had to pay for sunscreen.

Thank you for having such a great park!

Sincerely,

Tammy P. & Family
