We are thrilled to have seasonal jobs available for university students from all over the globe through the BridgeUSA Summer Work and Travel Program. Working with Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari will provide international students the opportunity to participate in this dynamic cultural exchange through living and working alongside students from the US and all over the world.

Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari is a family-owned theme park and water park in Santa Claus, Indiana, with top-ranked coasters, lots of family rides and shows, plus Santa Claus, himself. Splashin’ Safari is also one of the world’s largest water parks. We’re known for providing Guests with quality service along with Free Soft Drinks, Free Sunscreen, and Free Parking!
Compass Commons
All BridgeUSA students have access to Compass Commons, Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari’s Team Member housing. Compass Commons is a brand new Team Member residence hall opening May 2023. Located within walking distance to the parks, Compass Commons has occupancy for 136 Team Members. Roommate requests can be submitted in advance and considered upon arrival. Weekly rates are $105 and will be payroll deducted. All housing units are multiple occupancy with communal restrooms and shower facilities.
Opportunities at Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari
Some of the different jobs we offer include:
- Lifeguard – Work in Splashin’ Safari. Lifeguards are responsible for the safety of the water park, including watching over Guests as they enjoy the water and enforcing water park rules. Must be able to swim.
- Food & Beverage – Work in a food location in one of the parks. Assist Guests in a friendly, courteous manner in service lines or at a register. May also work in a kitchen and help in the preparation of food items.
- Ride Operator – Work at a ride in Holiday World. Ensure the safe and efficient operation of rides. This includes enforcing rules, giving safety instructions to our Guests, and maintaining the cleanliness of the area.
Money
Team Members are paid every two weeks. The starting pay for BridgeUSA Students is $13/hour.
Housing
All hired BridgeUSA students have access to Compass Commons, Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari’s Team Member housing, which is located within walking distance to the parks. Weekly rates are $105 and are payroll deducted. All housing units are multiple occupancy with communal restroom and shower facilities.
Travel Arrangements
We recommend flying into Louisville or Evansville airports. Transportation is available on Sunday and Monday from Evansville, and Tuesday and Wednesday from Louisville. If you happen to arrive at either airport on a different day, hotel accommodations are available nearby. Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari is unable to provide transportation outside of the scheduled days, so students should have sufficient funds to cover meals and unforeseen travel expenses.

Work Dates
Students are expected to work the dates listed on your employment agreement. If you need to request a change, please contact your sponsor to adjust your DS 2019 prior to your arrival at Holiday World & Splashin Safari.
When to Arrive
Compass Commons is open for arrivals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from May 1 – October 31. Students may arrive up to 72 hours prior to the start date on their DS 2019.

A valid Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari I.D. opens the door to fun-filled events for all! Team Members can enjoy free access to the 50+ rides in the park and entertainment, or travel to one of our reciprocal parks for free admission! Holiday World Human Resources hosts numerous events on the property including exclusive Team Member ride nights, picnics, movies, competitions, and more!
Things to do in the Area:
Santa Claus is a smaller town, but there’s still a lot to do nearby! Enjoy local restaurants & stores, Lincoln State Park, a drive-in movie theater, kayaking, Patoka Lake, Marengo Cave, and more! In addition to all of the fun in the area, Santa Claus is within driving distance for the perfect day trip to major cities including Louisville, Indianapolis, Evansville, Nashville, and more!
Safety
Indiana is known for being a safe place to live with a low crime rate. Southern Indiana and especially the Santa Claus area have some of the lowest crime rates in the country. Santa Claus, Indiana, has an overall crime grade of “A+” according to CrimeGrade.Org, and Spencer County has a 95% lower crime rate than the national average. Santa Claus has no registered sex offenders or known predators.
Climate
The climate of Santa Claus ranges from warm in May (12°C–25°C) to hot and humid from June-September (17°C–31°C). Throughout September, the temperature will become gradually cooler.
