Here at Holiday World, we make merry on more holidays than just Christmas, Halloween, 4th of July, and Thanksgiving.
For example, today we paws to celebrate “Dress Up Your Pet Day”!
Those who have pets understand it when I say they are part of our families. They eat with us, travel with us, and are even dressed in clothes from their own wardrobe. The only difference is they have fur.
One thing I’ve learned from having pets of my own – those who have them love to talk about them!
Speaking from experience, I never hesitate at the chance to show off a photo of my dog, Dasher.
Here he is sporting his favorite Indiana Hoosiers shirt:
In celebration of Dress Up Your Pet Day, we invited our staff to share photos of their pets wearing their finest.
Meet VP Lori’s Elphie and Lauren from Entertainment/Event’s Edgar. (He is named after Edgar Allan Poe, author of “The Raven,” and the inspiration for the theme of Lauren’s “sister coaster,” The Raven.)
Elphie and Edgar are Christmas card-ready in their Santa and Mrs. Claus outfits.
This is Oscar – VP Eric’s beloved boxer. He’s ready to join our full-time staff in his yellow polo.
Molly – IT Casey’s precious pup – would make a great Holidog Innkeeper, don’t you think?
Bethany from Finance’s sweet Daisy Mae is pretty in pink polka dots.
Sweaters are the outfit of choice for Graphic Artist Kyle’s three pooches – Rooster, Wesson, and Luci.
VP Chris’s goldendoodle, Spencer, is thinking warm thoughts in his Splashin’ Safari t-shirt.
Sales Amanda’s Bella is a fur-shionista in her poofy pink tutu.
Cathy from Cleaning’s Ms. Athena is feeling groovy in her tie-dye top.
Retail Vanessa’s pups, Tater and Taz, are pawsitively adorable in their Minion costumes.
DeeAnn from Finance’s Samson is channeling his inner Safari Sam in this hat.
And here is IT Steven’s Marty McFly going “Back to the Future” in his denim shirt and orange vest.
Of course, we can’t forget about our pal Holidog! His favorite outfit to wear is his cape and hat.
From our well-dressed furry friend to yours, Happy Dress Up Your Pet Day!
