Who’s having a Blue Monday?

I’d not heard of the term “Blue Monday” until recently.

Apparently, the use of “blue” isn’t a positive one. It’s all about winter having no end in sight, holiday bills, and impossible-to-keep resolutions. Yes, today is calculated to be the most “blue” of any day throughout the year.

Yuck!

And so …

 

Not sure if there’s a Red Wednesday coming up in the list of obscure holidays, but in a few weeks the next batch of Firecracker cars will be painted sparkly red. We’ll be sure to celebrate that day with you, too.

Anyone else freak out on a daily basis that the sun goes down before it’s even five o’clock? I don’t think I’ll ever get used to it!

Happily, we left the shortest day of the year behind us a few weeks ago and can cling to the knowledge that each days is a few minutes longer than the day before.

Remembering Alamo

This tweet created a bit of a stir, so let’s answer those questions:

First of all, yes, we will have an Alamo restaurant again this season. Same building, same location.

We’re re-working the restaurant’s physical design to create a more efficient service area.

And we’re also cooking up some new menu items (can’t tell you exactly what just yet, though), so be sure to remember the Alamo when you visit this summer.

Hence this blog post’s title.

The sparkly top coat is thanks to a product called Big Flake. We can’t wait to see Firecracker in action on a sunny day.

And, fear not, after painting eight of the cars blue, Joe will paint the other eight red. (Oh, I can just hear the college sports fans already … )

Matt, Lauren, Leah and William stopped by “the booth” in our Paint Shop to send out a January update:

In case their closing line sounds familiar, let me just say it was originally meant to be simply “see you soon.” That group of Disneyphiles, though, couldn’t help but channel their inner Mouseketeers by adding the word “real.”

I’ll use mouse type for this final comment, as it will probably annoy more people than it will please, but technically, it should be see you really soon. There. I can click the “publish” button in good grammatical conscience now.
