Today, we’re a day early and a Lauren short.
While Lauren prepares to celebrate her sister Leah’s MBA achievement, our #podsquad consisted of two Matts and me.
VP Matt has been in our industry for a while, so he knew to bring fudge.
He filled us in on new roller coaster merchandise (some of which is already available here on the HoliShop), Santa Claus Land shirts, plus our new Daily Deals.
And that Daily Deals Sweepstakes? Be sure to enter daily through May 7.
Congrats to everyone at the Tony-nominated Mean Girls Broadway, including our show alum Chris Medlin.
And if you want to catch Josh’s cameo in Miss America’s vlog, it’s at four minutes and 20 seconds (4:20) in …

May the 4th be with you …

… you’ve gotta admit, that was a pretty good gift. Apparently “May the fourth” was on a Tuesday that year, if you check out the sticker on Will’s shirt.
Our 66 Days at Sea campaign was a fun way for us to tease our Thunderbird announcement for two months (and change) back in 2014.
Some of these uses for bacon just blew our minds!
And The Coaster Crew does it again.
Twice:
You want to play our game? Great, we can trade places! Tibor has helped us recreate podcasting experience – “Live from our glass enclosed studio…wait…we forgot the air holes! Help us Coaster Boy! But click on Amazon first!” @HolidayWorld #HoWoPo #allinfun pic.twitter.com/dLhDq10muD

Yes. He. Did.

Amazing! While out birdwatching, we’ve spotted the elusive Georgeus Eagalus on his way home to @HolidayWorld. Probably resting after braving some Raging Rapids in his Tippecanoes to make it in time for opening day. A rare sight indeed for #AudubonDay – what a Firecracker! #HoWoPo pic.twitter.com/PYPHOKo6xo

Thanks for joining us! We’ll be back with our next episode in three weeks.
Meanwhile, Opening Weekend is just hours away – be sure to use our podcast promo code and save up to $21 on Pick Your Price tickets.
Big Red “was” a more Regional brand. It was big in southern Indiana and Kentucky. I used to only get it when visiting my grandparents in Seymour. (I live near Kokomo). It is based in Waco, TX, and is big throughout that area. However, it is NOW a national brand (and available in Indy)… although not nearly as large as Coke or Pepsi, to be sure. Mostly bottled by 7-UP and independent bottlers, but it is partially owned by Dr Pepper/Snapple Group (7UP) and is available most places.
Wikipedia lists Big Red as the #6 selling soft drink as of the 2002-2004 data (old data, to be sure).
Their other flavors are not as widely distributed: Big Blue (cream soda, more like cotton candy), Big Peach, Big Manzana (apple) and Big Pineapple.
They used to sell Big Read Vanilla Float, which tasted like a Big Red float with vanilla ice cream!
Check out the Big Red with Real Sugar that is available in soda shops and Rural King stores.
